Bigfoot Outfitters offers fair chase trophy elk hunts in Idaho Fish and Game Unit 18. The large elevation variation in Hells Canyon creates high elevation elk calving areas and optimal winter range that has productive grazing during even the most severe winters. The rough terrain also protects herds from predators and human harassment. This diverse habitat along with good game management has produced a growing elk heard with a high bull to cow ratio and many large mature 6 point bulls.

Hunters can expect to hunt in diverse areas ranging from alpine timber and meadows to rough open gorges. Opportunity to hunt in this spectacular wild area is very limited and is controlled by a lottery tag system. In addition we strongly encourage our hunters to harvest mature bulls only. Bigfoot Outfitters is allocated a limited number of these revered tags and are booked on a first come first serve basis.

Our elk camps are located in the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area Wilderness where the modern conveniences must be left behind. Camp is a traditional wall tent camp located 14 miles by horseback. Camp includes a cook tent, hunters sleeping tent, guide tent. Hunters sleeping tents are 12x14 ft. wall tents with 5 ft. walls which includes a wood stove, quality cots, comfortable and clean sleeping pads and a lantern for light. Hunts are conducted out of our main camp by foot and horseback. Home-style hot breakfasts and dinners will be served daily with a large sack lunch. Hunters should be in good physical condition to enhance your hunting adventure.
