Wilderness pack trips in the 7 Devils area of Hells Canyon National Recreation AreaWilderness pack trips are conducted in the Seven Devils area of Hells Canyon National Recreation area. Pack trips are typically four days in length and include food and lodging. Our wilderness camp is located on Dry Diggins Ridge about 10 miles from the Windy Saddle Trail Head and accessed by foot and saddle stock. Primary mode of transportation on your trip will be seasoned mountain saddle stock. The camp is a traditional wall tent camp with private smaller sleeping tents. There are abundant trails, alpine lakes and many scenic views to explore during your summer mountain wilderness adventure.

Fishing in the mountain lakes is a good opportunity to introduce a young one to fishing. Our camp is located near many alpine lakes that are productive fisheries for rainbow and cutthroat trout. Fishermen may experience different lakes and various species of trout each day. Every lake has a unique setting and different fishing challenges. Fishermen can wade and cast or use float tubes to access raising fish too far from shore. Warm long summer days make for enjoyable and productive fishing at these spectular destinations. Fishing in some lakes is very productive and is a good opportunity to introduce a nauvice or a young one to fishing.

Hells Canyon and the Seven Devils offer guests many breath-taking views and opportunities to encounter an array of wildlife. During a trip one may observe mountain goats, mule deer, elk and black bear. Hells Canyon contrasting with the Seven Devils Mountains produces a breath-taking canyon deeper than the Grand Canyon. The dramatic elevation changes and high granite peaks are truly a natural wonder to behold.
