Hells Canyon Outfitters operates on the south end of the Nez Perce National Forest and in the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. Hells Canyon National Recreation Area straddles the borders of northeastern Oregon and western Idaho with over 650,000 acres of beauty and adventure. This rugged wilderness was carved by the great Snake River and its tributaries. Hells Canyon is North America's deepest river gorge and encompasses a vast and remote region with dramatic changes in elevation, terrain, climate and vegetation. Hells Canyon plunges more than a mile below Oregon´s west rim, and 8000 feet below He Devil Peak of Idaho´s Seven Devils Mountains.
